Sustainability

We believe traditional retail is broken. If the industry doesn’t change radically we will have even more mountains of waste, fewer choices, less originality, and only lower quality. In order to shape our collective futures in the best way possible, in 2019, we embarked on a sustainability journey that aligns with our mission to support grassroots creators and reduce waste in fashion. We believe transparency is critical to this, so we’re sharing, and constantly updating, our full roadmap below.

Now &Always

The pre-order model

By our count, we've already saved over 336 million litres of water and over 124,000 tees from landfill. This is thanks to the accuracy of the pre-order model - we only print exactly what's sold, which means fewer tees made, and fewer tees wasted. Making sure we're reducing wastage wherever possible has always been our main focus.

April2020

Started phasing out non-ethically accredited suppliers

Our pre-order model already saves dead stock from landfill, but we knew we could do  more to combat unethical production in the short-term. So, as of 2020, we started phasing out garments that don't have internationally recognised ethical production accreditations. This hasn’t been an easy task, but we’re happy to report that in 2022, over 80% of garments used and sold via our platform were from ethically-accredited suppliers.

November2020

Sourced the most sustainable packaging possible

We were sick of brands sending us too much plastic packaging, and we bet you are too. Our packaging was  already recyclable to begin with, but in 2020 we decided  to switch to the most sustainable packaging possible for our T-shirts: we wanted our mailers to be both recyclable as well as made from recycled materials. After months of research and sourcing, we confidently set on Grounded Packaging as the best possible option.

January2021

Launched Our Own Ethically Produced T-shirt

We’ve learned a lot about what makes the perfect blank tee, so we thought, why not make our own blanks? So the EVERPRESS Classic was born. Our range of Everpress-branded tees uses 100% organic combed cotton, is Fair Wear certified and complies with the strictest ethical and environmental standards. They’re also a damn good fit and the perfect weight for printing.

September2022

Became B Corp certified

After three years of hard work to meet the highest social and environmental impact standards, we became a  certified B Corporation. This is a fancy way of saying that we will be held to super strict standards by an independent body, who will make sure we give equal importance to our workers , our customers, our suppliers, our community and the environment. Only 5,000 companies in the world are the proud owners of this certification – and we’re honoured to join them. Because we’ve seen first hand the importance of businesses building communities, not just profits.

December2025

Implement Our Recycle Return Policy

Currently, only 15% of consumer-used clothing is recycled, and that’s not good enough. All our returns are currently donated to charity, but we want to do more, and offer our customers the chance to recycle their tees. By 2026, we aim to have every Everpress purchase backed by the option to return your T-shirt, even after you've worn it, for a discount on future purchases. All returned tees will be recycled or upcycled.

Our focus

Environment

Be environmentally friendly in everything we do. Offer a recycling initiative, use only sustainable materials, monitor, record and reduce our greenhouse emissions and conduct a life cycle assessment of our products.

Community

Ensuring we have a diverse, inclusive team that's representative of wider society. Work within our industry to develop, and champion, social and environmental standards and commit to equal pay for all.

Team

Shared ownership of the company with our employees to drive impact and inclusion. Pay a living wage to our employees (including contractors and supply chain) to help vulnerable workers climb out of cyclical poverty.

Governance

Providing consumers with full transparency on how our products are made, where the money they spend goes, and highlighting the positive impact their purchase has on the creators they are directly supporting with every Everpress purchase.
