We’re B Corp Certified
Our tagline has always been: “There’s a better way of doing things.” And since we started out in 2016 we’ve been committed to finding a better alternative to traditional retail. To us though, ‘better’ is something that’s always on the horizon.
It would be easy to look around and say, “We’re doing it better,” but we know in our era of climate crisis that that’s not enough. That’s why we’ve spent three years working towards becoming a B Corp. And we’ve finally got there.
So what exactly is a B Corp?
B Corp certification is overseen and granted by B Lab, a nonprofit committed to holding businesses to account so that they work for planet and people. To become a B Corp, a company must go under the B Lab microscope, a rigorous process in which every aspect of the company’s dealings – from the ethics of its supply chains to how it treats its internal staff – is carefully monitored and interrogated. Accountability and transparency are the cornerstones of B Corp. This means that, as well as meeting B Corp standards for environment and ethics, companies must commit to making their ongoing performance publicly available.
Our Impact Score
Three years and over 300 questions later, we are delighted with our score of 92 out of 100. B Lab focuses on five areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customer, and you can check out the chart for a full break down of how we scored on each. Now our challenge is to keep this score: every year we’re monitored to the same strict standards, to ensure we don’t slip.
Our Highlights
Part of our road to B Corp meant looking back at our journey, and though we know we’re always a work in progress, we’re proud of what we’ve been able to achieve so far. From helping to raise money for charities and causes around the world, to supporting local businesses, to the environmental impact of the pre-order model and more. Looking back makes us excited for the challenge ahead.
