Seeds for the future
This campaign has now ended
Pre-order the limited edition "Seeds for the future" short-sleeved t-shirt available in vintage white, glazed green, baby pink, and baby blue.
100% of proceeds will benefit the Garden Program at The SEED School of Miami. In the Garden Program, middle school students learn about the principles of food security and engage in “Living Labs” where classroom principles are put into practice, including a nursery, workshops, growing microgreens, growing food in space, biology/ecology lab, to name a few.
The SEED School of Miami Garden Program supplements targeted enrichment instruction and Spark programs that integrate arts programming.
The SEED team has developed a 36-week STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Gardening & Environmental Education curriculum. The goal is to teach the principles of food security and environmental education by integrating these principles into academic programs.
Developing a green infrastructure and landscaping at school improves quality of life and students’ skills. Like the educational path students are on, planning and nurturing a garden takes time, patience, and hard work. The SEED Garden Program serves as a metaphor for planting seeds with your education so that a beautiful future can grow.
The SEED School of Miami is a college preparatory, public boarding school for South Florida students. Our mission is to provide an outstanding educational program that empowers students to be successful, both academically and socially, in college and beyond.
SEED reaches beyond the traditional school day and teaches students to thrive in a rigorous academic environment, be ready for college, to develop essential character traits for lifelong success—perseverance, self-confidence, and self-discipline.
SEED Miami is the third of three SEED Schools; there are SEED schools located in Washington, D.C. (founded 1998) and in Baltimore, MD (founded 2008). Learn more about the SEED School of Miami at www.miami.seedschool.org
"This year in the Garden Program I enjoyed literally everything. At the beginning of this school year, I was a little skeptical because I don’t really like gardening. That all changed as the year went on. I learned a new hobby and I found something new I like. As a result of being in the Garden Program at SEED, I am now more into plants and making things ‘green’ than ever before. I am now a proud plant mom, and I’m so excited. This class has taught me life skills that I will never forget, it also taught me to be grateful. Grateful for the things I have because a lot of people may not have access to them. This program is very selective and I am proud to say that I, Christel B, am part of the program." — Christel B, Student
