Scott Csoke

Scott Csoke is always inspired by bright colors, text, and self expression. He loves making something that makes him happy because it usually makes the viewer happy as well. Working primarily in acrylics, he is attracted to whatever medium is currently holding his attention. He is inspired by vintage objects, interior decoration, gender fluidity, and dogs.

Humberto Cruz 

Humberto Cruz is an illustrator and graphic designer based in San Diego, CA. Influenced by pop culture, fashion and color, he describes his work as spontaneous, quirky , fun and enthusiastic,. He primarily works with pastels, markers and spray paint and focuses on digital media from initial concept development to art creation.  

How do you know each other?

We know each other from instagram. We "met" last year--I think I followed Humberto first and then he followed me back and we immediately started gushing about each other's work!  

How did you interpret 'Connection'?

Through talking to one another often on Instagram, we found we really have a lot in common. Whether it's struggles with anxiety, identity, art making, that's really what has connected us. It is such a natural collaboration. We actually worked together on another project for menswear brand LAZOSCHMIDL without even knowing about it, so when we had the opportunity to do this together, it was nice to actually be inspired by one another and have more control over the final result.

How did you approach your design together?

We wanted to incorporate what we do best. For me that was my flower motif and for Humberto that was his text and use of color. We wanted it to be light and fun while still saying something that was important to both of us.
