Il Mistero Dell'Amore Crema

Introducing a t-design that pays homage to André Aciman's 'Call Me By Your Name' novel, later adapted into Luca Guadagnino's 2017 film - AKA, one for the CMBYN girlies.

The design features an array of illustrated objects from the film adaption: the infamous peach (pre Elio's encounter), a bicycle, swim shorts, a cassette tape player, a vase of flowers, musical sheets, a guitar, an espresso, a boiled egg, a packet of cigarettes, the weathered head of a stone statue, and an icy lemonade. Each element is delicately depicted, resulting in a design that evokes a sense of nostalgia and contemplation.

Why I designed this:

I was, and still am haunted by the movie; it confronted me with estranged feelings from a past version of myself. Years later, and I too am now living [somewhere in northern Italy], leading me to wonder whether the haunting sensation was not just from my past but also, in some way, a refracted call from my future. Either way, when I visited Crema this year, the town in northern Italy where the film adaption was set, I almost felt as though I owed something back. This lead to the birth of this t-shirt design.
