A lot of my inspiration for drawings at times come from song lyrics. There was a song at the time I created this piece called “Heartbreaker”, with the lyrics of “You’re No Good, Heartbreaker” that struck a cord with things going on in my personal life. At the time I was totally smitten with- and at the same time heartbroken- over someone. I wanted to show those conflicting feelings, tugging and pulling at one another- which is how I came up with the hands squeezing at the roses
