The Hadza are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer societies in the world, living around Lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley of Tanzania, Africa. Their way of life provides valuable insight into the way humans have lived for the past 2 million years before civilization began. Genetically, the Hadza have one of the oldest lineages of contemporary humans. Some say this is where all of humanity began.

With a little over a thousand Hadza living today, their way of life is extremely precious. They have been caretakers of their land for the past 50,000 years - yet in the last 50 years, they’ve lost over 90% of it. The Hadza possess vital knowledge of wildlife and sustainability at a time when the modern world is consuming more resources than ever before. The key to our future lies in looking back at our past.

Without immediate action, this tribe and the wealth of knowledge they possess may soon be lost.
