Riley Samels is an illustrator based in Akron Ohio. His work is inspired heavily by the creepy crawlies you find turning up rocks, but also finds muses in delicious food and social issues. In his free time he can be found curled up with a cozy game and his 2 cats.
I wanted this design to call back memories as a kid ( or if you’re me, a full grown adult) taking whatever container you could find to scoop up the invertebrate friends you found out on a walk. Something to let people know you might be a little quirky and you probably attend farmers markets on the weekends.
