This year – the hundredth anniversary year of the Suffrage movement – women around the world are still rising up to fight for their rights. From the #MeToo movement to abortion rights marches, women are speaking out against the injustices that still blight their lives. That is why Amnesty is putting women human rights defenders at the forefront of it’s Write for Rights campaign this year. REBELLION is a creative act of solidarity between women and non-binary artists, and women human rights defenders around the world. Make a statement with the clothing you wear.

Amnesty International defends individuals who are in immediate danger of serious human rights abuse. They can range from cartoonists, poets photojournalists, graffiti artists and even slogan t-shirt wearers; most of whom have been illegally detained, tortured, or sometimes killed for their activism. Everpress will donate 40% of the profits from this promotional venture to Amnesty International UK Section Charitable Trust, a registered charity, with charity registration number 1051681 and will pay 10% of the profits from t-shirt sales and the event (inclusive of VAT) to Amnesty International United Kingdom Section: Company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales no. 01735872.

Hazel Mead is a feminist illustrator best known for her work around campaigns tackling period poverty and other taboos. She always seeks to work with organisations that are moving society forward: she draws with purpose. Her best work comes from when she’s forced to deal with particularly challenging and heavy subject matters.

They seem to know your insecurities and they attack. It's a lonely thing because you read the biting comments, and then think about them all day. A lot of my work is empowering and I could have created an empowering “you will not silence me” image, but that wasn’t what I wanted to say.
